I've pulled out this pattern a few times and returned it to the stash because sometimes life happens but lately I've had lots of time to sew due to being quarantined.
As a creative I love having all this time to create so I pulled the pattern out last Sunday because I needed a break from sewing masks and wanted a quick easy project.
That is was. It was very easy from cutting to sewing to buttonholes. View A calls for 7 pieces. I cut size large and did not have to make any adjustments to size. The fabric I bought in Montreal last year but I do not remember the type.
The only changes I made was how I attached the collar. At first I followed the instructions from the pattern but I should off kept in mind that part of the inside of the collar shows therefore it needs to be neat so ripped it out and I attached it the way you would for a tailored jacket that way no topstitching would show at the front facing.
The other positive of being in quarantine is that I am using fabric and notions from my stash. These buttons I have been in my stash for years as well as many others. Honestly I almost ordered buttons online for this jacket.
Here's the back. The collar is really high which I love and those sleeves, just stunning.
Finally it feels like spring (2 days ago to was winter) and I can go out and feel the sun on my face, I mean take photos.
If you are looking for a very easy, statement piece, I would suggest looking at this pattern.
It's super comfy and I paired it with leggings. I'm sure it'll go well with jeans also.
If I find the right fabric I'll probably make this again but for now I'll be wearing this version.
Till next time
